Now in its tenth year, the Hay Festival Winter Festival welcomes in Advent with fireside cheer and mulled wine intimacy. Hang out with friends, laugh fit to burst, and to enjoy the finest stories, ideas, food and company.
The weekend brings the authors, comedians and storytellers from the May festival, plonks them in cosy rooms and invites you in to join the fun. Last year included Libby Purves, Marcus Brigstocke, Hannah Rothschild, Susie Dent and Fay Presto, and this year is likely to be just as good. The full programme will be announced in November.
The events take place at the Community Centre, the Parish Hall and the Swan Hotel. All the writers are compelling and entertaining and their books make perfect Christmas gifts. To which end, the festival bookshop, Pembertons, will once again be on-hand to provide autographed copies for you (and will even take orders if you are unable to come in person).
If books aren’t enough, Festival-goers will also be very welcome for Hay’s Christmas Happy Hour on Saturday night. Participating shops will be offering discounts, drinks and Christmas cheer.
So come and join other Festival-goers – renowned for their generosity, adventure and great party spirit.
