A Weekend For Being Outside: June 13th 2009

The summer festivities are really beginning in earnest this weekend and there are a huge number of events and activities to choose from.

Apart from the Man versus Horse Marathon in Llanwrtyd Wells, there are several other events that are worth considering.

From Saturday 13th June to Sunday 21st the Herefordshire Walking Festival is a great opportunity to get out and see some of the best of the best countryside.

If you're near Ludlow, you could spot a host of angels descending on Clee Hill, as the Hospice Angels set out on their annual charity event to raise money for St Michael’s Hospice by visiting local locations with “angel” in their name.

The first port of call for the heavenly (rather than hell’s) angels will be Angel House Bed & Breakfast at Angel Bank on Clee Hill. Their hosts Nick and Jenny Westington will be providing them substance to help them on their way to Kington, Grosmont, Kingsland and Coleford

St Michael’s Hospice on the edge of Hereford provides free specialist care to individuals who have a life limiting illness and support and services to their families and friends. It has been providing much needed and appreciated care for 25 years to the local community and surrounding five counties. Any donations or offers of support are gratefully received.
