Ellie Goulding wins Brits Critics’ Choice Award

Herefordshire's Ellie Goulding has been awarded the Brits Critics’ Choice Award and will collect the it at the 2010 Brit Awards. She follows in the footsteps of Adele and Florence + The Machine.

The Critics’ Choice Award is for new British acts that are tipped to break through in 2010.

The shortlist and winner is chosen by a team comprising music editors of national newspapers, key music and lifestyle magazines and music websites plus the heads of music at major radio and music TV stations.

Brits committee chairman Ged Doherty says, We are delighted that with the introduction of this award, we have been able to give a platform to brand new British artists. We have no doubt that Ellie Goulding will follow in the successful footsteps of Adele and Florence and the Machine, we wish her all the best.
